Since 2011, our multi-generational family of woodworkers have mastered traditional English country house kitchens, cabinetry and paneling.
As artisans with 25+ years of experience, our kitchens have stood the test of time and we refuse to use cheap materials.
Unlike mass-market, factory made kitchens, all our projects are one-of-a-kind and made to measure.
You will never see one of our kitchens repeated twice.
We don’t do awkward phone lines or sales departments. We’ll update you throughout the whole process in person and via WhatsApp.
Factory-made kitchens deliver factory made results. Instead, 100% of our creations are made in our family home and workshop in Poland.
We’ve mastered designing traditional Victorian, Georgian, Edwardian and old English styles for a British and European market.
A charming 19th-century-style English country kitchen, crafted exclusively for a country house in Sussex.
An English country classic, designed with green paneling and brass accents, styling 19th-century country estates.
A beautiful redesign with wall paneling, dark oak curved stairs, fitted cupboards and Victorian style flooring.
The Victorian Cloakroom – A floral Victorian-style blend of rich green paneling, brass fixtures, and botanical wallpaper.
A refined blend of 18th-century elegance and modern accents, crafted for a home in Hampshire.
A 20th century style county kitchen with silver Calcott handles, a brick backdrop painted in egg blue.
A fitted kitchen we built for a townhouse in London, mixing English delicacy with Shaker-style cabinetry.
A country kitchen fitted in the south west incorporating Bath-style limestone floors, cream cabinetry and brass handles
A fitted wardrobe built for a client in Bath, bringing Victorian elegance to life with emerald paneling & brass accents.
After 3 generations of woodworking in Poland, we started Wood Street in 2011 when we moved to England and fell in love its country-house culture of Black-Labs and Land Drovers. For 15 years we have patiently mastered Georgian, Victorian, Country-and-Farmhouse-style English kitchens. Our kitchens take time, but with good reason.
To this day we have completed 50+ made-to-measure heritage kitchens, combining the internationally renown skillset of Polish woodworking, with Poland’s economical labour and our love of the English Country House style. We’ve made and delivered kitchens all across Britain, from the Cotswolds, to Kent, Cambridge, London and even the midlands.
As a multi-generational family of woodworkers and craftsmen, we started Wood Street back in 2011, merging the expertise, patience and economical craftsmanship of our Polish woodworkers with Britain’s country-life aesthetic we fell in love with when we moved here.
I’m afraid our projects take time. And we don’t do call centers or middlemen – each client is treated on a personal one-to-one basis, updated weekly through direct WhatsApp messages and calls.
No corporate jargon. We are a tight-knit family of craftsmen, led by founders Dawid and Kamilla.
Our kitchens are crafted in our workshop following decades of tradition and attention to detail not found in the mass market.
We dont sell pre-made collections. Every one of our kitchen creations is unique to your home and our design expertise.
As taught by our forefathers, we never compromise on the quality of our kitchens or accept a project that would spoil our reputation for craftmanship.
Every detail, from your choice of materials, to the hand-cut inlays and dovetail joints, to the hand-rubbed oil finishes and beaded moulding that give our project their superior build, is completed patiently over numerous weeks and months.
We’ll arrange a no-commitment design consultation and won’t commit you to anything unless you love and approve the design.
From the day of approval, we’ll send you weekly WhatsApp updates letting you know how your project is going.
Before you approve your project, we’ll negotiate a fixed price and wont charge any extra, delivery or hidden fees thereon.
Forget about automated phone lines and sales departments. When you work with us, you’ll have our personal WhatsApp and we’ll work with you and keep you updated, every step of the way.
We dont work with anybody – and you don’t want to either. Before we make any agreements, we recommend you give us a direct call or send us a text on our WhatsApp where we’ll discuss your project in mind, assess your budget and timing, potential features, and conclude whether or not we’d be right for your job.
Please note as a handcrafted joinery we can only take on so many projects at once and recommend asking us sooner than later.
Before we get started on your kitchen, we’ll schedule an in-person or over the phone design consultation where we’ll measure your space and design a 2D blueprint of your desired kitchen (or other bespoke room/creation).
Here, we’ll offer recommendations of the finest materials, English-era design styles, and ‘easter-egg’ features like hidden doors and built-in trays that our clients love. We don’t hesitate to make changes, working tirelessly until you’ve settled with your design.
Once you’re in love with your design and have agreed to move forward, we’ll gather the exact resources and begin work on your project.
Please note, quality doesn’t come quickly. Rolex and Rolls Royce have a waiting list for a reason. Likewise, our bespoke projects take time as we carefully cut materials and craft your project with precision.
Once the components are ready, we’ll carefully drive to your home or location with our in-house team and fit-out your kitchen as scheduled – usually within one day. We will never include extra, or hidden delivery costs.
If necessary, we can rip out the old build. Here you’ll meet the team who were with you from the beginning and your kitchen should be ready for use by the evening.
From your initial design consultation to the moment you agree to a project and finally have it fitted in your home by our team, our designer and co-founder Kamila will be your dedicated design partner, keeping you updated in person and on WhatsApp each week.
She’ll ensure your project is scheduled in advance and you can see how it looks before it’s made (with 2D concepts), as well as while it’s being made, as we send you photos of your project in and after production. All coordination goes through her, ensuring quality at all levels.
Having inherited decades of family woodworking traditions, we love incorporating secret, hidden and magical features into our kitchens and cabinets that bring English fairytales to life.
We’ve designed kitchens with in-built trays to in-built spice racks, hidden doors, sliding-children’s steps and even in-built cabinets that disguise unwanted features like washing machines and microwaves.
As demand for heritage living reaches an all time high in the UK, many people crave grander kitchen projects without the limiting costs of English labour.
While we do have a minimum budget we work with to maintain our high standards, having our workshop in Poland has allowed us to make typically extortionately-priced heritage kitchens more affordable to middle and upper middle class families in England wanting better materials and extra features.
“I’ve had quite a few things made to measure by various carpentry companies. However, I’ve never met anyone so precise, who approaches their projects in such a professional and conscientious manner.
I rarely add opinions on the internet, but in this case I had to. Solid workmanship, deadly precision, perfect final effect. This is definitely not the last order, I will never look anywhere else again.”
“We wanted to express our heartfelt thanks for the incredible work you carried out in handcrafting our ktichen. Your attention to detail and dedication to perfection have ensured that our vision and dream to create a beautiful space has been achieved.
It has been an absolute pleasure working with you from the start. You have been patient, honest and professional throughout this whole journey. We had no doubt that the result would be spectacular”
We usually take on heritage kitchens projects with a minimum budget of ~£30,000 to spend
Handcrafted quality kitchens take time and we usually have a waiting period of around 2-3 weeks to start a project.
However we are happy to have a consultation any day of week and onboard our clients as soon as possible.
We were born and raised in Poland before we moved into the English countryside.
Our workshop remains in Orkowo, Poland where we craft our kitchens at a more economic cost without compromising on the durable materials that make our kitchens so strong.
In fact, Poland is the world’s third largest furniture exporter and has a reputation for its woodwork culture and craftsmanship.
We do in-person, over the phone and video call consultations.
Depending on the type and size of or project, our projects can take make between 3 weeks to two months to build.
We have served all over England, fitting made-to-measure kitchens and cabinetry from Hampshire to London, Cambridge and the midlands. We have even fitted some requests from Switzerland and France.
For a consultation, schedule a discovery call in the form below, or text us on WhatsApp for a quick reply to any questions you have.
After a handmade project is completed, we will personally drive to your home at no extra cost and deliver the components to be installed as we intended. We dont use third-party contractors and will always install our cabinets and kitchens ourselves to avoid mistakes and maintain the Wood Street standard.
Since 2011, we’ve delivered our kitchens and cabinets all over England, from the Cotswolds to Kent, London, Cambridge, the Midlands and more. We’ve also received demand for holiday homes across Europe, including in Switzerland, France and Germany.
Every year we take on 15 projects across England – offering made-to-measure, country and farmhouse style kitchens, cabinetry and furniture crafted for traditional living. When you work with us, we’ll guide you through the whole process, measuring your room, designing your project, handcrafting your cabinetry over 2-3 months, until finally delivering and fitting your project in your home without compromise.
